Digital art, in its most recent expression, shows how it is possible to reconcile the public with the practices of contemporary art. Proceeding through the infiltration of the urban fabric, INTRUSIONS 0-1 is a novel attempt to escape the event to promote a presence, both permanent and ad hoc, of creation in the city. It is not so much an "exhibition" as an "activation" of places which, diverted from their first use – a car or video rental shop, a store or an institution – become like bridges between the audience and the most advanced issues of contemporary creation.

INTRUSIONS 0-1 is thus a precursor of what the action of [ars] numerica would become, in permanent contact with the city. Beyond the effects of the announcement, the artists doing this demanding work come not only from France but also from other continents, sharing their uncertainties with us.

La Vague by Thierry Kuntzel gives the body time to read, while Scott Snibbe retraces an infinite number of inevitable boundaries that separate people despite themselves. Jim Campbell reminds us how daily life is fading into a disturbing and ubiquitous evocation of the memory of the present, while Romy Achituv draws us into landscapes where space and time merge into an unfolded perspective that crumples and freezes contemplation.

As a complement to these exceptional invitations proposed by Maurice Benayoun in cooperation with the CITU, [ars] numerica presented INTRUSIONS 0-1 at the Cinéma le Parvis in the Hall de la Communauté d'Agglomération and in the Mairie d'Audincourt: a whole, proposed by Jean-Baptiste Barrière, interactive installations accompanying the presence of artists and scientists who meet during a workshop (Immersion, from 29 November to 10 December at Numerica), to share their experiences and provide the opportunity to experience creation in motion in real time.
