Artist in residence on the digital stage from 5 October to 17 October 2009

This production, or should we say, this ritual of sounds, images and words, is not, strictly speaking, a reflection on new technologies, but rather on the "contours of the soul," this "cartoon” of man, a first inward voyage through which he is required to make reality out of his dreams.

So, this show, on the one hand an example of widespread use of new technologies, and on the other hand, a questioning of these same technologies, a consideration of this long process called "progress", a concept at once vague and yet inevitable, and which incites man towards advancement to these new territories, expanding the scope of (im)possible pleasure and desires ... to infinity.

It's the story of that man sitting in front of his computer keyboard and typing a word into Google who in fact is asking questions about himself.

It is ultimately the quest of the "archaic" or "simple primitivism" Sought through a canvas, Carroll's looking glass – that Jonathan Pontier is putting forward through this work where music, text and video interact endlessly in the most organic way possible.
